It has been almost 5 months, and it is time to try a little Kanga work again. It's been a long road to haul, and there is a lot more ground to cover, but I am still moving ahead. The stroke came on slowly - I remember that Thursday thinking something wasn't right but ignoring it. I had a little trouble talking, and I would bang into the right side of doors. It wasn't too bad, and I decided to see if a good nights sleep would make it better. It didn't. The next morning was worse. My balance was really off,and the kicker was when I tried te shave. I couldn't get my arm up to my face to shave. My wife called 911 when she realized what was going on. That resulted in a quick ride to the hospital, and then a helicopter ride to Columbus. A week later I was in therapy, had lost the use of my right arm, couldn't walk, and could barely talk. 5 months later I can talk and walk - although slowly - but my right arm is still pretty useless. I can move it, but that's all. I'm still improving.
